MC Mars - School For Cool

Are you cool, did you go to the school for cool?. In other words common sense, courtesy, originality, hard knocks, determination, imagination, manual-labor, and all those older idioms people now dub as "Old school' Anyway a feel good joint a little later on up the spectrum 1989 but now of course considered way back as that is 27 years ago now. Sliced off of Cutting Edge Records. Never heard of them . Here's MC Mars with School for cool. Very rare. I don't have the vinyl, or do not remember this song, but ran across it online and liked the vibe, of course grabbed it up as an MP3. Lyrics are cool. The beat is a nice percussive break-beat.

J.S.A - Society Rap (Rare Goody)

Another conscience one for you all today, because I am all about uplifting music, cant beat those 80's message raps. This one from SRC Records in 1985, by the group J.R.S. out of the West Coast with Society Rap. They were actually a Christian Hip Hop group hailing from Pasadena California, Nice to hear early positive West Coast rap records. Nice Vocoder accompaniment in this joint as well. My question is "WHAT IS GOING ON IN OUR SOCIETY"

Vicious 4 "Getting To The Point" - Rare Concious Gem!!

Hey Good morning all, or depending on where you are in the world, good afternoon or good evening. I woke up this am with this jam on my mind for whatever reason. And I haven't thought about this song in a long while, but it was there front and center, you know with all the things going on in the world We cling to feel-good things, music, hobbies, thoughts. We tend to relate to songs that help us assess the situations. Since I love Hip Hop, Hip Hop is always on my mind. I love funk, soul, jazz, and other pop music too but this joint for some reason hits me, because it is an early Hip Hop giant. It may not be one of those songs that you would see a list of best of greatest. But I think this one is right up there with the message or NY, NY. in its effect and message delivering power. Of course without the commercial success. You know in the 80's there was a lot going on, and people were sensitive to addressing what they felt, in a positive uplifting manner. Today we have great problems going on too, but I dont feel there is a lot of music talking about things in a positive uplifting light. Listen to the lyrics, a  solid jam, block boys, for the B-boys, Poppers, and for regular people who want to vibe out and put their problems aside for a second. It makes you feel good. The world is rough today.

Finally Found it "UMSTURTZ JETZ (Beat Box Version) Killer ELECTRO Joint from 1984!!

I have searched mighty hard for plenty of hard to find old school Hip Hop, Breaks and Electro in my day, However probably none like this precious gem right here. First introduced to me as a cut on an old school Hip hop and Electro tape I got from my mentor Frosty Freeze back around 2000 (Original mix Tape is probably from around 85" itself) and went nuts after hearing it mixed in behind "YUM YUM EAT EM UP" One thing you need to understand is that, these IMPORTS as they are known have and were always rare records because they were not produced here and had to be imported to the US to only certain record stores carried and sold them (The story of guys Like Bambaataa's life to find these unknown rare cuts).. I thank Groups/individuals such as Bobby Orlando, Kraftwerk, Jojo Spooge Boy, Art of noise and just so many others for their contribution and pioneering of the early Techno-pop, sound and greatly influenced the electro scene as a whole, really "Electronic scene" we (U.S. Took their sound and turned it into a little bit more of a funkier thing called Electro funk. But you have to give it up to Germany and Italy for powering this unique sound. Well anyway this is UMSTURTZ JETZ!! From the group NEW BREED. However its not the usual main version (fast paced early Techno-dance version) this is the Electro version. The Telefon Record label (JETZ publishing) really did some amazing work back then. When these records made it onto US Soil, Poppers have always been delighted over this and anyone who grew up with the early electronic new wave sounds. You probably will not find this almost anywhere else online except You tube now. But I have it for you available to download. I found this by just snooping around, I first had to research the BEAT BOX BOYS Because I knew for whatever obvious reasons it had something to do with them, or in relation to (and I was right, my little musical blood hound Nose led me right to this). I then came across Ian Darby and Spooge Boy and finally New Breed.. As soon as I saw that familiar German chant as the title. "URMSTURTZ" I was like Yaasss! This is a great start to my new year. Its been 15 years really desiring this record. AND OF COURSE I AM SHARING MY FINDS WITH YOU, STRAIGHT FROM MY PERSONAL MUSIC COLLECTION TO YOURS!!
